If the person isn't into such toys and like, you could try going a safer route and buying some DVD's or CD's. A good site for this is CD WOW which contains a good catalogue of cheap CD's But it is often worth having a sneaky look through their CD or DVD collection first to ensure that they don't already have it! could try Boots , have a look for something a little luxurious, something that will give a bit of pampering to the lucky receiver of the Christmas present. Or for a bit of indulgence how about a case of wine from Virgin Wines ?
For a slightly different, more adventurous present then try Experience.com, where you can buy all manner of fun days out.
