Pricing for a Conservatory
Q - I would like to build a conservatory size 3 x 5 metres and I have been quoted a price of £3,700 to build the foundations, dwarf wall and erect the conservatory that I will buy myself. The price quoted does not include the finishings. Do you think this is a fair price?
A - The going rate for labour for this kind of work is between £100 and £120 per day so the £3,700 quoted represents about 33 man days and that sounds about right. If, however, the quote also includes the materials in the foundations it is a bargain and you should accept quickly before they change their minds!
