Going Abroad for Dentistry Work
The cost of dentistry in the United Kingdom can be overwhelming, especially if you do not have dental insurance. Some elaborate cosmetic procedures can cost thousands of dollars. This is why some people have decided to go abroad to have their dental work done.
Before making the decision to go abroad to have your dental work done you may have many questions. Some of the questions you may ask yourself are; Is going abroad for dental work safe? Which countries offer the best quality dental care for the lowest cost? How much money will I save by going abroad for my dental procedure? This article will be helpful to answer some of those questions.
Is going abroad for dental work safe?
There are many well qualified dentists abroad; in fact some countries have a higher standard for dentistry than in the Brittan. However before you go abroad you might want to check with the General Dental Counsel in the UK. They have arranged a guide for going abroad for dental care.
Which countries offer the best quality dental care for the lowest cost?
Countries such as Germany, Poland, Hungary and Spain can offer dental care at a lower cost because of low overhead. The cost of labor is not as high in these countries. There are also agencies out there that can help you to plan your dental holiday. These agencies can be found by doing a simple web search.
How much money can you save by going abroad for dental care?
Some companies claim that you can save up to 70% by going abroad for dental care, although there are many things that you should take into consideration. Your travel expenses to the location that you choose to have the work done in could be high if you are not going at the right time of year. You also don't want to compromise quality just because you can get a flight cheaper to a place where the standards of dental care may not be that great.
Many people are also planning their holidays around their dental care, rather than taking a special trip just to have the work done. They are planning to take in the sights of the country and soak up some sunshine while they are visiting.
Dental treatments abroad are becoming more and more common in the UK. In fact as many as 60,000 searched on the internet for information about dental holidays last year. This is due to the decrease in NHS dental services.
Over all it is very important that you do your research on dentistry abroad before setting out for your "dental holiday." Check all the articles you can online. Search the forums and read the reviews of others before deciding on a dentist. When you do decide, begin to contact the dentist before you leave. Make sure that they understand your situation and what you need to have done. You may even consider sending them your dental records, so they can have a good understanding of the treatment that you need before you get there.

"Good article, easy to follow. Medical tourism destinations' number has increased over the last 3 years, and talking about Europe, Eastern Europe is soon to become a market leader when it comes to dentistry, aesthetic surgery or eye-care; Hungary, Cyprus, Malta, Romania, Serbia, Bulgaria, are only some of the countries that will, in my opinion, lead this market in future. However, with medical clinics in Romania realising that medical tourism is probably going to be their key to development, I think we're not far off from seeing this county as a next tourism destination. A couple of points on which I base my statement: Prices - a bit lower than the neighbours both in terms of medical act and cost of living (accommodation, shopping, eating) Accommodation - great boutique hotels. Lots of 4 star hotels at a fraction of the price in UK or US) Location - in terms of visiting - actual tourism, or holidaying - Romania boasts major sightseeing spots - to list just a few: from sea-side to mountain peaks, from Danube Delta to hisory-filled places, it has them all. Now compare that to what's on offer in Hungary or Poland for instance. Quality I've said it before, and I'll say it again. There are more dentists than I can count in this country, and such as elsewhere, there are good ones and not so good ones. However the good ones are the successful ones - the successful ones are generally the large clinics. The large clinics, at least the ones that professional medical travel agencies work with can easily rival clinics in the UK or even the US in terms of equipment, materials or quality of work. That said, I am pretty certain it's just a matter of time before Romania takes its place as an important medical tourism destination. I would love to hear answers or comments to my post. "
