Easily search for NHS Dentists in your Area
The popular consumer information site www.whatprice.co.uk has recently launched a searchable map to find NHS dentists in your area. Simple type in your postcode and you will be shown where your closest dentists are! Visit www.whatprice.co.uk/health/find-dentist.html for more information
As part of the ongoing work to develop the website into a truly user friendly consumer information site Whatprice.co.uk have been successfully incorporating Google maps into their database of information. The ‘Find a Dentist’ page is the latest in a line of map based data presentation. The user simply navigates to their area of interest and is then presented with a number of tooth shaped icons. Clicking on any icon provides additional information about each Dentist; their address, contact details, and critically, a link to obtain additional information on their NHS status. Try it today, you may be surprised to find a small NHS dentist in your area!
This searchable map is in addition to some existing tools, such as the ability to search for petrol stations in your area and even provide feedback on the price per litre that you paid at the pump (www.whatprice.co.uk/car/petrol-stations.php )
On a more local scale Whatprice.co.uk is helping out the residents of Cambridge UK with their postcode change tool (www.whatprice.co.uk/postcode.html) . On 2nd September 2006, Royal Mail changed the postcode of 54,000 addresses in the Cambridge area! Use this tool to find out if your address effected.
This consumer website is continually being upgraded with innovative and useful tools and tables of consumer information.

Secret Shopper
At Whatprice-central we have been very busy performing some 'secret shopper' services to help you make the right decisions when you have your consumer hat on, this week we took a look at Car Insurance websites.
So what is the cheapest online car insurance quote? How long does it take to get this quote. What are the differences between the different insurance policies that are on offer? Secret Shopper takes a look at a load of car insurance websites so that you don't have to. We discover that there is a huge difference between the insurance quotes that we found, however this is usually (but not always) due to the level of cover that is on offer. Once you get to the more 'basic' insurance policies then most of the online insurance firms offer similar prices. Unsurprisingly the 'traditional' insurance firms seem to offer more expensive policies and offer websites that are difficult and confusing to use. This contrasts with the newer internet only sites that are easy to use, have clear descriptions of their policies, and cheaper prices! http://www.whatprice.co.uk/shopper/car-insurance.html
Do it Yourself Kitchen
There is nothing like a bit of personal experience to help write a DIY guide, so I have included an article which describes my personal experience of installing a new kitchen. It took a couple of weekends, and the house was a complete mess whilst doing it, but it was worthwhile in the end and saved a fortune on kitchen fitters. My advice is to take your time over these things and make sure you are well prepared with the right tools for the job.
