Sedated tooth extraction is used by people who need to have a tooth removed but do not want to have a local anaesthetic. With sedated tooth extractions are usually performed by putting the patient under a general anaesthetic by giving an injection or supplying gas. Sedated tooth extractions may reduce the worry and direct trauma of a tooth extraction but there is a risk of side effects from the sedation.
