Household prices for electrical equipment repair minimum charge
Modern household electrical items are not designed to last ten or even five years. Some items are cost engineered to fail shortly after the mandatory one year guarantee. Often they can be repaired, but you should consider whether it is cheaper to buy a new product than have it repaired. Surprisingly this may be the case for some brands of washing machines and dishwashers especially if the main motor or circuit board fails. Do not attempt your own electrical equipment repair unless you know exactly what you are doing. With modern electrical appliances it is often cheaper to buy new electrical equipment rather than getting it repaired. There are plenty of warranty extension schemes available when purchasing new electrical equipment, however in general these warranties are an expensive waste of money.
