A handyman is someone who is good (hopefully very good) at DIY and sells their services to people who either aren't good at DIY or haven't the time or inclination to do DIY. The types of jobs they can do are multitude from laying laminate flooring, to putting up curtain rails or fitting shelving. Used wisely a good handyman (the term also covers female handywomen!) is a very useful service. Handyman are usually paid by the hour and can be pretty cheap. They are a useful for getting the odd jobs around the house, however the quality of the handyman work can vary greatly.
