Dishwashers should be connected to the mains water supply and can also be connected to the hot water to save on electrical heating. Make sure that all water connections are checked properly before the dishwasher is installed in the kitchen as it is often hard to spot a leaking dishwasher once it is sat under the worktop. The more modern dishwashers act more like a shower than a bath and so tend to use a lot less water and so are more environmentally friendly. This is the price to connect a dishwasher to the mains water supply (and maybe the hot supply as well) and includes any time taken and materials used unless stated.
