As a man, castration seems a little harsh to me. Then again it can have a huge effect on the behaviour and smell of your 'Tom Cat'. It reduces their aggressive tendencies meaning they will hopefully get into less fights and stop marking their territory with the lovely cat urine smell. Of course it stops them from having lots of kittens with the neighbours cats as well. Cats are mostly castrated around the age of 6 months. Unless stated otherwise these are example prices for getting your cat castrated at the vets.
