Whatprice have a 'secret shopper' whose mission is to seek out all manner of websites looking for the best prices and websites that are easy to use.
Our shopper will take on the identity of typical applicants and look at subjects such as travel insurance, car insurance, online banking and much, much more.
Usability studies suggest that most users scan websites and if they don't see what they want or have difficulty in using the site, then they leave - and fast! (bye then) The reviews in this section try and allow for that, as typically the reviewer will never have used the site before and will go to it cold, as would a new visitor/potential customer.
All we can say about our secret shopper is that they are typical of the casual Internet user - knows about google and is comfortable using a PC, but wouldn't be described as an IT, err, guru...
