The price of an electricians call out fee has to cover the cost of travel to and from the job and the fact that the electrician could be doing another job somewhere else.

| Is it a call out or just work that needs doing? There's a difference. Call out fee is usually applied to urgent out of hours work, e.g, Sunday morning, late at night etc., whereby your electrician has set aside what they were doing to help you. I think £70-75 for call out plus first hour is fair and reasonable under those circumstances. If the job can wait then its just usual hourly rates with nothing added for call out - because it ain't a call out! | I appreciate this site is a good guide and some of the prices sound bang on! But dear customers be very careful, I know of many so called electricians out there who are not up to date with certification or have none at all! I always as habbit send my invoice or quote with scans of all my certification. I can tell by some of those extremely cheap prices they can't be electricians and you as a customer are tempting fate!
