At 700mm tall and 295mm deep, the EcoFIT Pure is one of the shallower combis on the market.

The EcoFIT Pure uses an automotive-grade aluminium heat exchanger with 4-sided cooling and water agitation. The 4-sided cooling design circulates water on more surface area of the exchanger than a conventional unit, reducing localised thermal stress and extending the component’s operational life. In hard water areas, aluminium exchanges scale faster than stainless steel, which makes the Boiler Protection Kit, required for the extended warranty, a practical necessity as well as a warranty condition.

Warranty and support

The EcoFIT Pure’s standard warranty is 2 years. This is the shortest baseline in its class, with most rivals at this price point starting at 5 years. Vaillant’s reasoning is that the extended route via Vaillant Advance is widely accessible, but a homeowner who does not specifically ask about the extension route at the quoting stage can end up with significantly shorter cover than they expected. Registration must be completed within 30 days of installation.

The 10-year route requires a Vaillant Advance registered installer and the Boiler Protection Kit (or Advance Boiler Protection Kit) fitted at the same time. The Boiler Protection Kit is Vaillant’s magnetic system filter, which captures debris and prevents it from circulating through the heat exchanger.
